Dessert Locations

Bigdash Ice Cream & Pastries, Richardson

This Middle Eastern, Arabic dessert spot is amazing! My husband and I have been here a couple of times and the desserts are too good. We usually get a few that we have tried and come to like, but there are so many options to choose from. Along with the traditional sweets from Lebanese, Egypt, Palestine and more, they also have stretchy ice cream that has a cheese feeling to it. My husband loves their Turkish coffee to sip on with the desserts.

Some of our favorite desserts include:
Harissa (also known as Namoura & Basbousa in other countries; a coconut based cake with sugar) *This one was the sweetest.
Osmalieh& Kinafa (vermicelli pastries with a mix of cream cheese inside and finely garnished with pistachios) These two weren’t overly sweet; it was just right.
Baklava (layers of filo dough held together with honey and chopped nuts)

Address: 717 Lingco Dr Ste 210 Richardson, TX 75081

Would we go again?

YES!!! We love this place and have already been several times. The prices are reasonable for the quality and type of dessert. It’s always packed when we get there but they have some additional seating outside. This store has a family friendly feel to it; they allow you to order and eat what you like and pay on the way out. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has a sweet tooth 🙂

Royal Sweets, Irving

Royal Sweets, an Indian dessert and snack spot has up to four locations in North Dallas. We stopped by here after a lunch out and it was great! They had a variety of options including my favorites, ladoo and gulab jamun:) We ate our dessert and even bought some to take home for later. Don’t go here if you’re on a diet!

Would we go again? Though it’s a drive for us, if we want fresh Indian sweets for an event, we will probably go here to get some! The service was great…the young man at the counter took extra time to tell us about how their sweets are made and delivered. They have up to 4 locations in Dallas, two in Irving, one in Plano and another one in Richardson.

Mango Mango, Richardson

As you can probably tell by now, we love mangos! We wanted to check out this place called Mango Mango for some sweets and drove there one afternoon. The options were endless, ranging from mango slushies to mango with waffles and crepes. You can choose from mango paired with other fruits, jellies or even ice cream. We chose one that stood out to us the most; the durian mille crepe. Basically it was a mango flavored cake, but layered in crepes and mango fillings. Needless to say, it was delicious!

The desserts are not cheap, but my husband and I were able to share just one dessert and were fully satisfied. The price is for the quality!

They have four locations in Texas and many more in other states. Click here to see if there is one near you!

Emporium Pies, Dallas

Although I’m not a big pie person, I wouldn’t say I dislike them either. I like pies; just certain ones, with certain flavor and texture. We checked out Emporium Pies after the corona lock down and wow! Their pies are amazing, which is probably why they are priced the way they are. A piece of pie is $6 and a whole pie is $40, but it’s the best $40 you’ll spend. If you are unsure of which one to get, try a piece of all! We chose the ebony and ivory and devoured it! Other options include Smooth Operator (gluten free) and Lord of the Pies. They also have a handful of seasonal pies such as the melted snowman and hot cake pie!
