Tea Houses, Cafes and More

Tapioca Pearls!!!
Stainless steel bubble tea straws!

Boba Tea, famously known as bubble tea originated in Taiwan and is made with tapioca pearls or jelly. Probably within the past 3-5 years, it has become the drink to try (or I may have been living in a bubble before then).

Pho Boba House

By far, this tea house has one of the best Boba teas we have ever had. My husband and I tried their Thai Tea one and we loved it. We finished every sip and tapioca in it=D They also had a variety of snacks to go along with the drinks. We agreed to come back another time to try one of their dishes! The service was good, atmosphere was calming and it was very spacious.

Update: Best Boba in the Dallas area we have had so far!

Snowflake Café aka known as Ramen & Sweets, Richardson

We dropped by here for a snack and enjoyed the mixed fruit crepe, which was delicious. It came with some ice cream, which I thought could have been on the side rather than inside the crepe. It was non the less delicious! For the drink, we shared a mocha tea with tapioca, but it was neither of our favorites. The atmosphere and setting of the café was enjoyable, so we stuck around for a while… eating, talking, people watching and taking pictures=D

Bubble Bubble Tea House, Rockwall

We stopped by here after a trip to the park with a few of our cousins. This tea house located in the plaza at Rockwall has a wide variety of tea, coffee and smoothie options with reasonable pricing. My husband and I shared the mocha milk tea with tapioca and it was fairly decent. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming and homely. It’s ambience, décor and variety of seating made us want to stay for a while. They even had a few board games if you wanted to stay and play.

Pink Coffee Roastery & Cafe, Garland

One trick hubby and I learned during Corona season was how to avoid crowds at coffee shops, restaurants and other public places. We would go to coffee shops around noon, while everyone else is out having lunch and then go out to a restaurant in the afternoon, while everyone else is getting coffee. We stumbled upon Pink Coffee Roastery and Cafe one Saturday around noon and had the whole place to ourselves. Let’s just say Pink Coffee gets 10 out of 10 for their instagrammable vibe.. if that’s even a word. Everything about this coffee shop is insta worthy, even the hall leading to the restrooms! We spend more time looking at and taking pictures of the cute set ups and backdrops than actually having coffee. Their coffee and food was good, especially considering the prices. They also have a large selection of sweets, ice cream and more!

Would we go back? For sure! If we are in the area or want to meet up friends or take anyone out, this is definitely on our list of coffee shops we would go to!

Bon Temps Beignets, Dallas

It was not too long ago that I was introduced to the goodness of beignets. If you have not tried beignets, you’re missing out big time! On an afternoon stroll in Deep Ellum, we stopped at Bon Temps Beignets and it was heavenly. A powdered beignets, a hot coffee and a walk in the warm sun.. what else can I ask for? Well, maybe another beignet or two won’t hurt!

Would we go back?
YES a million times!

Ding Tea, in Houston, TX

I can see why Ding Tea is the new thing in H-town nowadays. We had to see what all the hype was about…so we checked out the Pearland location, south of Houston. We hung out with our cousins there for the evening and it was great! My husband and I picked the Thai tea with boba as usual and we loved it. They had a good variety of boba tea, milk teas, fruit juices and snacks!

There were plenty of old games to play like connect 4 and Jenga. They also had a blackboard with moveable letters, so we spent a good deal of time playing with that as well. There were also many college kids sitting around and studying (until we made a lot of noise and they left…opps!). It looks like a place I would definitely go to hang out OR to sit and do my work.

The Houston locations include:
Pearland: 3422 Business Center Dr Ste 142, Pearland, TX 77584
Sugarland: 4650 Hwy 6, Sugar Land, TX 77478

Mango 8 in Austin, TX

After touring the Zilker Botanical Garden, we were all ready for something to cool us down. So we found this small tea house with many different options of bubble tea and snow ice. I had the thai tea with tapioca and we also had two flavors of shaved ice desserts. Each item on the menu was more delicious than the last. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, so we sat down at the tables to finish the desserts. The service was great and the employees were very friendly.
